Understanding Baccarat (The Basics)

Baccarat is a card game that has 3 possibles outcomes, which are Banker, Player and also Tie. As the easiest game among all the casino games. So understanding the game shouldn’t be an issue. It is also a game that has 2 or 3 cards in a round to define the winner. The winner is determined by the player with a higher score.

To start off, first, there are some strategies that every Baccarat player should know. Every gambler should start bet on Banker compare to other outcomes because Banker owns a higher chance of winning

Moreover, the “Tie” bet is a bet that won’t be encouraged as it is a lousy odds ever. You only will win if the “Banker” hand and “Player” hand had the same total when you bet on “Tie”. In contrast, if you bet on either “Banker” or “Player” and the winner is “Tie”, then you can get back your bet without any winnings or losing.

Understanding Baccarat (The Basics)

Before Start

Before start playing, you can choose which side you want to bet on, but you are not encouraged to do side bet on “Tie”. You should always remember that Baccarat only had 2 hands, which is “Dealer” and “Player”, so you can’t play like Blackjack. You can try to play against the dealer in Blackjack but can’t do this in Baccarat.

When playing Blackjack, every gambler will have 2 cards in hands and each hand will have the card value from 0 to 9. If the total of these 2 cards had reached 10+, then you need to ignore the “1” as the total value of the card.

In Blackjack, the third card is decided by the players themselves while Baccarat is decided by the card value of both hands. The players can either add additional 1 or more cards but Baccarat can’t do that as well. So, Blackjack gamblers have decision-making right. This is the main difference between these two games.

In some situations, either the “Banker” hand or “Player” hand will need to deal with the third card. Normally, either “Banker” or “Player” hand with 8 or 9 won’t’ get any extra card because this is considered “natural”.

Therefore, if the “Banker” hand with 6 or 7 in total, then will keep the hand remains while if the “Banker” hand is 5 or lower in total, then the third card will be dealt with. In contrast, if the “Player” hand is 6 or 7 in total, the hands also remain while the hand is 5 or lower in total, then the “Player” hand will need to deal with the third card.

The majority will be complicated in these areas, so here is some summary:

  • If the “Banker” has 7 or more, the hand will remain
  • If the “Banker” has 6, the hand remain unless the Player has 6 or 7, which the “Banker” will deal with the third card
  • If the “Banker” has 5, the “Banker” draws with a total of 4,5,6 or 7. Or else the hand remains.
  • If the “Banker” has 4, the “Banker” draws with a total of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. Or else the hand remains.
  • If the “Banker” has 3, the “Banker” only remains if the “Player” is 8 in total. Or else, the hand will deal with the third card.
  • If the “Banker” has 2, 1 or 0, the hand will definitely deal with the third card.

So, the “Banker” hand will deal with the third card depending on the hand’s total and also the “Player” hand’s total.
